Undergraduate Education Steering Committee (UESC)

The Undergraduate Education Steering Committee oversees medical student education in Psychiatry, including medical student courses, required and elective clerkships, preceptorships, as well as career counseling and facilitating medical school psychiatry interest groups.

The committee is composed of:

  • Directors of the first and second-year medical student courses
  • The Director of the medical student Psychiatry clerkships
  • Faculty site coordinators for the medical student third-year clerkship
  • The Vice Chair for Education
  • Other faculty representatives (e.g. for the Colleges, preceptorships)
  • 1-2 psychiatry residents from each PGY-level, including at least one inpatient Chief Resident and residents in the Clinician Educator Track who are interested in medical student education

The committee meets quarterly and is chaired by a current or past course or clerkship director, or by the Vice Chair for Education.
