Residency Policies & Procedures III. RESIDENCY TRAINING COMMITTEES Admissions Committee The Admissions Committee is a subcommittee of the Resident Education Steering Committee (RESC). The responsibility of the Admissions Committee is the selection of applicants with strong academic records, who have the potential to become superior psychiatrists, and to make significant contributions to the field. The membership of the Admissions Committee consists of the Residency Training Director (Chair), at least four regular faculty members of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and at least three senior residents. The Admissions Committee meets weekly for 1-2 hours from November until mid-February. The committee also meets once in September to plan the recruitment process and at other times as needed to review candidates considered outside the usual recruitment season. |
