III. RESIDENCY TRAINING COMMITTEES

Site Coordination Committee

The Site Coordination Committee is a subcommittee of the Resident Education Steering Committee (RESC). At each major clinical site the Psychiatry Residency Training Program is coordinated by a faculty member, appointed by the chair, as the clinical site’s Assistant Training Director.  The Assistant Training Directors and Chief Residents meet regularly with the Residency Director to:

  • review the training program and practice at each site;
  • conduct resident evaluation and progress review;
  • conduct the annual review for advancement of each resident;
  • discuss issues of training coordination between sites, rotation requirements, resource needs, etc.

The Site Coordination Committee reports to the RESC.  However, an individual resident’s major performance problems may be signaled directly to the Chair of the department, to be discussed by the Department Advisory Committee, which acts as the final resident evaluation committee.

The Site Coordination Committee meets on a monthly basis.  The meeting location rotates between the sites.
